In the Hermitage
(Russian Language)

The Hermitage in St Petersburg has existed for almost 240 years. Catherine the Great founded the Hermitage and created the first collections. It is located in the Winter Palace, the residence of the Russian tsars that was built to the design of Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli in 1754-62. In 1764 the Hermitage got the first collection of paintings.

Today the Hermitage has one of the most unique collections of works of art, over three million items, reflecting the development of world culture and art from the Stone Age to the 21st century. It takes not less than 4 weeks to see all.

Vera Grishina invites you to visit some of her favorite places in Hermitage. To see more pictures, please click here.
