"His Imperial Majesty's Page Corps"

This book describes events during the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries in Russia. It is a collection of memoirs written by graduates of the famous Imperial Page Corps, in St. Petersburg. The events described here were recorded by witnesses of those events. Many of these graduates became the diplomats, government officials, poets, writers, artists and military officers of the czar's they served. The authors represented here came from the nobility in Russia, serving at the highest levels of the Imperial Court. Among them are: L. M. Zemchujnicov, P. P. Gudim-Levcovich, B. A. Engelgardt, H. S. Trubetskoy, G. G. Sunnerberg, N. A. Obolenskiy, M. I. Valberg, and many others.

After the revolution of 1917, most of them emmigrated throughout the western world, however they continued to communicate. In 1921 the Union of Pages was formed in Paris and began to collect manuscripts from families with connections to the Page Corps. This collection became the main history of that time and those events, preserved carefully by generations of descendents. We are grateful to everyone who helped save these materials and sent them to us for publishing.

After reading this book, we will be thankful for your comments and we will attempt to answer all questions.
